Australian box office report: Moviegoers overwhelmingly accept Mission: Impossible
Our weekly guide to what’s happening at the Australian box office.

Our weekly guide to what’s happening at the Australian box office – thanks to Numero.
Surprising absolutely no one, Tom Cruise brought moviegoers back to cinemas in their droves this week with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Mirroring the unconventional Saturday release of Dead Reckoning, that once again proved no handbrake to box office performance—in fact, takings went up somewhat from 2023.
Another long-running franchise makes a strong comeback with second-placed Final Destination: Bloodlines. Meanwhile, Thunderbolts* and Sinners add to their totals in third and fourth spot, each with total takings of over $10M, making for a healthy-looking top four indeed.
