About State Cinema North Hobart
Contact & About
Names one of Australia’s 25 prettiest picture houses: “The rooftop cinema is gloriously kitsch and cool, adorned with fake lawn, deckchairs and a much more elegant and priceless asset: full-circle views over Hobart’s city, rivers and mountains.”
If that’s not enough of a pitch, try taking a look at the cinema’s diverse offerings, where big name blockbusters jostle for space against foreign language must-sees and the latest in homegrown Australian film. Once you’re done with the film, choose a suitable beverage and relax in the multi-level cafe and bar to think it over.
Cinemas 3 and 4 are located underground, the perfect intimate space for a horror movie or cult classic. And the boldly red-lined Cinema 7 still feels fresh since its addition in 2011, a worthwhile add-on to an enduring house of movie magic.
