Letterkenny: Seasons 1-9 (November 8)

It might take you a while to warm up to the eccentricities of the Letterkenny, Ontario townsfolk: stoic country bro Wayne and the duelling tribes of Hicks, Skids, and Hockey Players. But once you’re laughing, these short and sweet comedy episodes are completely addictive. Running an unexpected nine seasons and garnering a loving fanbase, Letterkenny has unique, bantery dialogue unlike any other sitcom on TV, and slacker characters you’ll love hanging out with for hours on end.

The Sex Lives of College Girls: Season 2 (November 17)

Season one of this fresh and flirtatious uni comedy gave us Sex and the City vibes for a much younger set of characters, including Pauline Chalamet (yep, Timmy’s sister) as the adorably awkward Kimberley. With her scholarship now under threat, she’s going to have to lean on her unlikely college buds more than ever, even as they deal with their own hectic challenges of identity and sexuality. Despite that blunt-as-hell title, the show has great, diverse characters and nuanced contemporary gags.

How To with John Wilson: Season 2 (November 29)

This observational docu-comedy series might make you see your own city a little differently, after taking a walk through New York City through the eyes of nebbish cameraman John Wilson. His nervous musings and probing first-person perspective captures everything from street-level schadenfreude and bizarre man-on-the-street interviews to heartfelt dives into the oddest niche communities: in this season, he winds up at an Avatar fan conference, where Navi-loving nerds get intimate about how the movie has, against all odds, changed their lives.

X (November 19)

Ti West knew he was onto a winner with this raunchy 70s-set slasher, quickly filming a prequel and a sequel to turn Mia Goth’s dual characters into the stars of a horror trilogy. She plays both the sensuous adult film star Maxine and the decrepit farmer Pearl, who has sinister designs for the porno crew shooting in her property’s barn. Kills via pitchfork and swamp alligator are deliciously nasty, but there’s also gorgeous retro fashion and makeup, and some melancholic ideas about the fleeting qualities of beauty and fame.

Love, Lizzo (November 25)

We just took a DNA test and it turns out we’re 100% fascinated by Lizzo: the R&B star who burst onto the scene with braggadocious bops like “Good As Hell”, “Juice” and “Truth Hurts”. She recently copped both praise and criticism for performing on President James Madison’s 200-year-old crystal flute, but who the hell else deserves to wield that thing?! A documentary portrait of the pop diva will reveal all about her meteoric rise, inspirational worldview, and whatever’s next in the future of this vulnerable and loveable talent.

Santa Camp (November 25)

Just who is Santa Claus, and who deserves to play him? You might’ve thought the chubby, white, bearded bloke who shows up at the shops every December is fairly replaceable, but this surreal holiday doco shows that Father Christmas can—and should—take many different forms. Set at a training event for elves, Mrs. Clauses, and of course Santas themselves, the documentary follows attempts to diversify our understanding of the Christmas characters, particularly by focusing upon Black, trans, and disabled actors desperate to be included in the Christmas spirit.
