Morgan Freeman returns to the role of detective and best-selling author Alex Cross (who he first played in 1997's Kiss the Girls) in this Lee Tamahori-directed adaptation of a James Patterson novel.

Alex is settling into retirement mode after the brutal death of his partner, but when a brilliant criminal kidnaps a senator's daughter, he's lured back into action. Teamed with the Secret Service agent assigned to protect the missing girl, Alex follows a trail of clues leading to a stunning discovery - the kidnapper wants more than just ransom.
