Australian doco follows Sudanese refugee Constance and her six children over ten years as they struggle to forget their past and resettle in Australia. Nominated for the Australia Foundation Award for Best Australian Documentary, 2016 Sydney Film Festival.
"The challenge of settling in a new country is compounded by memories of a painful past in this poignant documentary. Constance is a gutsy and big-hearted mother of six living in Wagga Wagga. A Sudanese refugee, she spent years in border camps before making the regional New South Wales town her home. Constance survived sexual abuse and life in war zones, and now she struggles to cope with racial discrimination and cultural differences. It's not all doom and gloom though; her children are doing well, and several locals are willing to be friendly. Filmed over 10 years, this contemporary story reveals much about the challenges faced by many in our community." (Sydney Film Festival)
