Filmed over the course of five years, this documentary follows lawyer Ipek Bozkurt as she tackles Turkey's domestic violence crisis - where more than 1 in 3 women have been affected - by advocating for justice for two female survivors. Facing obstacles in the form of increasing government repression and a prejudicial legal system, Bozkurt works alongside a group of activists to imprison abusers, while risking imprisonment herself.
Directed by Chloe Fairweather, Dying to Divorce was selected as the British entry for Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.
