Sean Connery's third outing as 007 sees James Bond go up against Auric Goldfinger, who is planning an audacious assault on the U.S. gold reserves at Fort Knox.
The seeds of subsequent Bond films were sown here with the use of gadgets exploding from the preceding two movies, and the inclusion of the series' first major pre-credit sequence that was independent of the main storyline. Plus, Goldfinger boasts the magnificently named character Pussy Galore as well as an iconic scene where a laser gradually makes its way towards an imprisoned Bond's genitals.
