Austrian, observational thriller about a middle-aged man who kidnaps a young boy, keeping him prisoner in his house. Loosely based on the events of the famous Natascha Kampusch case - the Austrian girl kidnapped and held hostage in a basement for eight years. Nominated for the Palm d'Or at Cannes 2007, this is the debut from director Markus Schleinzer - a long-time associate of Michael Haneke.
