Classic freewheeling western directed by Howard Hawks and starring John Wayne. A small-town sheriff (Wayne) enlists the help of a cripple (Walter Brennan), a drunk (Dean Martin), and a young gunfighter (Ricky Nelson) in order to keep a criminal in jail who happens to be the brother of a hot-headed rancher with a posse of hired killers. With the town under siege, the sheriff must hold out for 12 days until the U.S. Marshal is due to arrive and take them to safety.
