Writer/director Warwick Thornton (Samson & Delilah) brings together a collection of sad, funny and absurd Aboriginal ghost tales from across Australia in this documentary. Honest, matter-of-fact first-hand accounts illuminate perspectives about the other side.
Thornton began the project with a national callout for indigenous ghost stories and narrowed down the 150 submissions to the 13 featured. They include a woman who claims to have been attacked by a ghost in her bed; a woman who, when meditating, saw a rainbow serpent and Aboriginal elders; a man who met a spirit through a firefly. The tales are told first-hand, accompanied by monologues performed by actors.
