Geraldine Page gives an Academy Award-winning performance in this 1940s-set drama as Mrs. Watts, an elderly woman who travels from Houston to Texas to visit her childhood home one last time.

Her controlling daughter is too worried about the cost to allow her to travel, and her son believes her declining health would make the trip too risky. But Mrs. Watts wants nothing more than to return to the small town of Bountiful – the place she called “home” – and is willing to sneak past her children to get there.
