The first film from French animation auteur Sylvain Chomet, a comedy employing Chomet's old-school stylings, music, pantomime and very little dialogue. Triplets screened at Cannes 2003 and was Oscar-nominated for Best Animated Film.
Adopted by his grandmother, Madame Souza, Champion is a lonely little boy with a great skill - cycling. Soon, Champion becomes worthy of his name and rides in the Tour de France. But during the race, two men from the French mafia kidnap Champion. Madame Souza and her faithful, obese dog Bruno set out to rescue him. Their quest takes them across the ocean to a giant megalopolis called Belleville where they encounter the renowned Triplets - three eccentric music-hall stars (well, stars back in the ‘30s) who decide to take Madame Souza and Bruno under their wing. Thanks to Bruno's brilliant sense of smell, the brave duo are soon on Champion's trail...
