Comedic eco-drama independently made in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty, based on the true David vs Goliath story of a leisurely coastal town community who took a stand against a global corporation looking to mine their sacred mountain for gold.

Local postman Ned passes the hours inventing musical sub-genres. Resident cop Tipene spends more time fishing than crime-fighting. The hardest decision for Dave is whether to make pottery or go surfing, leaving his ever-patient wife Mareeka to enjoy the serenity of their surroundings. But someone else has an eye on this paradise and the serenity is shattered when Ned delivers a letter that will change their lives. It announces the arrival of multi-national mining corporation, Golia Minerals. This tightlywoven community is torn between those who welcome the promise of prosperity and those who oppose the mining of their mountain.

"Te Puke’s first feature film, made by and for the community, is an exercise in passion. The commitment of all, both on screen and behind-the-scenes, shines through this tale of the Coromandel anti-mining protests of the 1980s, describing comic shenanigans from puncturing prospectors’ tyres with Z-nails to crashing company parties dressed as Santa Claus. But pride and passion alone does not a great movie make, in what amounts to a low budget, though very well shot and scored, TV drama."
