Trail of the Panda (Xiong mao hui jia lu)

Presented by Disney, this Chinese film is the cute story of the friendship between a young orphaned boy and an orphaned panda cub.

Filmed in the wilderness of Wolong, Sichuan (an area destroyed after a massive earthquake in May 2008), Trail of the Panda mixes documentary-styled footage of pandas in the wild with the story of 11-year-old orphan Lu (Daichi Harashima) who protects a panda cub, estranged from its mother and persued by scientists for capture. The pair develop a bond, and Lu attempts to reunite the cub with its mum in the Wolong forrest.
