Australian box office report: Clooney and Roberts book tickets to the #1 spot
Ticket to Paradise, the anti-rom-com starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, collects a handsome $4.36 million in its opening week at the Australian box office. Family crowdpleaser DC League of Super Pets follows behind with a cool $3.1 million. After last week’s not-so-magical earnings, these new releases come as a welcome boost to the box office.
A fellow first-weeker, David Bowie experience Moonage Daydream, entered the Top 5 with a commendable half-million (especially impressive for a documentary). Despite being in 8th place, A24 whodunnit Bodies Bodies Bodies earned a similar total coming just shy of $444,000.
