Australian box office report: Four is Thor’s lucky number, after 4 weeks and $40 million
The fourth Thor film just crossed a cumulative total of $40 million after its fourth week. The box office’s second-biggest earner currently, Where The Crawdads Sing, didn’t earn much less than the top film throughout the week, getting another $2.3 million to Thor: Love and Thunder‘s $2.6, but it’s still a long way from beating Marvel.
Aussie filmgoers are still mad about Elvis and Top Gun: Maverick, which was announced as the third-highest grossing film in Australia’s box office history this week. In their sixth and tenth weeks of release respectively, they’re dependable entertainment, perhaps even the second time around.
Family fave Lightyear is lower down in the box office top 10 and will likely drop even more with its streaming release on Disney+, so be sure to catch Buzz’s origin story in cinemas if you prefer a Space Ranger-sized screen experience.
