Australian box office report: George Miller’s latest longing for the #1 spot
Three Thousand Years of Longing, George Miller’s follow-up to one of the greatest movies of the decade, failed to see the same success at the Australian box office in its opening week. Shy of $600,000, it was convincingly out-matched by Orphan: First Kill, which almost reached a million in its first week.
Bullet Train maintains top position for its fifth week, taking its total to a respectable $10 million. But its achievements are nothing compared to this week’s runner-up; Top Gun: Maverick is still earning big bucks months after its release.
Another film that also got the big bucks this year, Spider-Man: No Way Home, tried to scoop up a bit more with the release of The More Fun Stuff Version, but wasn’t able to crack the top five.
Here are the top 10 films at the Australian box office, September 1—7.
