Australian trailer and release date for hitwomen ensemble Gunpowder Milkshake
Gunpowder Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, with a killer ensemble of action heroines doing what they do best.
The hitwomen thriller has arrived in Australian cinemas, starring British actress Karen Gillan in her latest arse-kicking role since fun turns in the Jumanji and Guardians of the Galaxy flicks.
Here, she’s slaughtering bad guys alongside Game Of Thrones‘ Lena Headey, who warmly tells Gillan in the trailer below, “There’s not a single person in the world I’d rather kill people with.” Gillan reloads before responding, “Thanks, Mom.”
The mother-daughter pair of assassins belong to an enviable sisterhood including Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett and Carla Gugino, all dressed in delightful matchy-matchy librarian outfits for their John Wick-esque cover operation. They even disguise their weapons in copies of great women’s literature, making me wonder if Keanu has ever been to this particular establishment to “get into a good book” as Gillan does.
David Michael Brown has highlighted the action blockbuster as one of July’s most exciting new releases, promising “candy-coloured carnage and John Woo-esque gun-fu.”
Get your tickets to the gunshow below, when Gunpowder Milkshake introduces us to a bloody sisterhood of cinematic action legends. Seeing Lena Headey and Michelle Yeoh spraying bullets over each other’s shoulders in a retro diner should be well worth the price of admission.
