BAFTAs 2012, Nominations Announced

The British Academy have announced the nominations for the 2012 BAFTAs. The full list below.

Whilst the list is stocked with some regular winners from the Golden Globes and other award season ceremonies – such as The Artist (leading the pack with 12 nominations), The Help and The Descendants – it also give some welcome respect to others so far ignored like Drive (Flicks’ vote for the best film of last year) and excellent spy drama Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

Other refreshing nods include Marilyn Monroe drama My Week with Marilyn, Formula One doco Senna, Brit drama We Need to Talk About Kevin and comedy Bridesmaids.

Wellington’s Weta Workshop get the dues too, with Visual Effects nominations for two of their projects: Tintin and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
