First behind the scenes look at Danger Close, starring Travis Fimmel

The first behind the scenes photograph has emerged from the set of Danger Close, starring Australian actor and former model Travis Fimmel. The 38-year-old is best-known for playing Ragnar Lothbrok in the popular TV series Vikings.

Based on the Battle of Long Tan – one of the most savage engagements in Australian military history – the film follows Major Harry Smith (Fimmel) and his company of 108 young and mostly inexperienced soldiers from Australia and New Zealand. The supporting cast includes Luke Bracey (Hacksaw Ridge, Point Break) and Richard Roxburgh (Breath, Hacksaw Ridge).

Danger Close was written by Stuart Beattie, a sought after writer whose scripts include Collateral, Australia and Pirates of the Caribbean. It is being directed by the prolific Kriv Stenders, who recently made Red Dog: True Blue, Kill Me Three Times and Australia Day.

Danger Close is currently filming in Queensland and will open in cinemas next year.
