For Mother’s Day, Foxtel is launching a program of movies celebrating mums
Foxtel subscribers have an excuse to sit on the couch this coming Mother’s Day for inordinate, butt-flattening amounts of time.
The company has announced that it will celebrate the day by launching a program of films called Mum’s the Word, available to stream from May 9 to May 22 on FoxFlicks.
The initiative will present “a unique collection of mother loving movies,” bringing together “all the ingredients for a good laugh, cry and scream in honour of our beloved Mums.”
Titles on the bill include Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Tully, Lady Bird, Monster in Law, Bad Mom’s 2, Stepmom and Not Without My Daughter.
Weirdly, the initiative also includes mother! and the 1998 remake of Psycho. They are both, shall we say, not the sweetest celebrations of motherhood.
But hey, what better way to balance out all that sentimental stuff than some good old fashioned terror?
