How to watch Grey’s Anatomy season 18 (yep, we’re up to 18 now) in Australia
Fans of Shonda Rimes’ TV empire will keep watching Grey’s Anatomy until they’re truly old and grey. Now in its 18th season, the loves, friendships, and life-saving career of Dr Meredith Grey may never end.
Season 18 of Grey’s is currently available to stream on Disney+, with new episodes released weekly until the season finale on May 4. There’s one terrific drawcard to please both devoted fans, and those who have strayed from the flock (fair enough, man: there have been hundreds of hours of staff bickering and romancing by now). Her name is Dr Addison Montgomery.
Kate Walsh’s beloved character has caused fiery conflict with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) since season one, greeting her and McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey, his character dead since way back in season 11) with a line of iconic savagery. “Hi, I’m Addison Shepherd”, she introduced herself: “and you must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband.”
In the below promo she makes her bold comeback, after six seasons of her own spin-off series Private Practice. This time around, she’s intimidating a whole batch of new staff: “you must be the group that’s been screwing up the program.” Almost as exciting is her solution to a hospital-wide AC shutdown in the middle of a vital operation: “get me Meredith Grey.”
By now, we’ve sat through 390 episodes, a bunch of spin-offs and crossovers (including Station 19, which will link up with Seattle Grace Hospital later this very season), and countless huge celeb stars joining the team and then tragically getting killed off to go star in their own solo projects.
That quality and quantity have paid off for a huge swath of addicted viewers, who voted Grey’s Anatomy into the 25th spot on our list of Australia’s favourite TV shows. This month on Disney+, you can continue to go Grey all the way—at least until the next batch of emergency-fuelled episodes dash into Meredith’s workplace.
