Well, more or less. Have you been watching Mythic Quest, the workplace comedy set behind the scenes of a hugely popular MMORPG? The odds are about 50/50, as it’s very good but it’s on Apple TV+, whose specialty is “very good series that you only hear about by word of mouth.” Starring It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Rob McElhenney as creator and CEO Ian Grimm, Charlotte Nicdao, Danny Pudi, and F. Murray Abraham, it’s been a reliably good time for four seasons now.
Side Quest is like a narrative DLC, encompassing four stand alone stories about the lives of employees, players and fans of the game-within-the-series. Other than that, your guess is as good as ours.

Why we’re excited about Side Quest
Like we said, the OG Mythic Quest is a good time, and accurately skewers (for a given value of “accurate”) the video game industry from an insider’s perspective rather than just dismissing the whole culture as a bunch of nerds (which, to be clear, they are, but it’s rude to just say it). This spin off will hopefully capture the same tone, balancing insider knowingness with accessible laughs. And if it doesn’t? Hell, it’s only four episodes.
