How to watch Terrifier 3 in Australia

Terrifier 3 is in Australian cinemas right now.

What is Terrifier 3 about?

Coming from the point of view that there is no boundary that doesn’t deserve to be pushed, the Terrifier series is one of the gnarliest works of horror to come down the pike in a good long time. Picking up the thread, naturally, from 2022’s Terrifier 2, Terrifier 3 sees survivor Sienna Shaw and her brother Jonathan attempting to get on with their lives following their harrowing experiences, only for the…uh…terrifying Art the Clown to return to torment them anew. Which must come as a shock, seeing as Sienna lopped off his head with a sword gifted to her by her late father in the previous film. You can’t keep a good clown down, it seems. Or a bad one.

Terrifier 3 is the brainchild of writer and director Damien Leone, who not only directed the previous tow films, but has been playing around with ol’ mate Art in short films and anthology segments since 2009. At this stage of the game it’s safe to say Art the Clown is a genuine horror icon – and the most prominent of the 21st century. Having said that, these flicks are notorious for really going there when it comes to gore, pain, and violence, so don’t go in thinking you’re in for a night of fun frights. Leone is definitely out to test your mettle, and reports of audience members fleeing and/or fainting are increasingly common.

The cast of Terrifier 3

David Howard Thornton is the enigmatic and seemingly unkillable Art the Clown; Lauren LaVera is Sienna Shaw; Elliot Fullam is Jonathan Shaw, Sienna’s younger brother who is now in college; Samantha Scaffidi is Vicky Heyes, sole survivor of the first film. Plus wrestler Chris Jericho is psychiatric nurse Burke; Jason Patric is Michael Shaw, Sienna and Jonathan’s late father; and genre mainstays Tom Savini and Clint “Ron’s brother” Howard show up in supporting roles.

Why we’re excited about Terrifier 3

Shock for the sake of shock isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but the franchise is definitely here to stay, and strong reviews indicate this one is not just an exercise in cinematic depravity. Are you down to clown?
