How to watch Unfrosted in Australia
Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld (you know, he was in that show) makes his long-awaited directorial debut with this timely parody of all those brand biopics we’ve been getting lately.
How to watch Unfrosted in Australia
Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story is streaming in Australia exclusively on Netflix from May 3.
What is Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story about?
Seinfeld directs, co-writes, and stars in this obviously comedic take on the invention of the titular breakfast pastry, which the funny man once described as “a perfect vision of the future from Kellogg’s.” Thus we find ourselves in Battle Creek Michigan, circa 1963, where arch-rival food companies Post and Kellogg’s are pushing the boundaries of breakfast technology.
Speaking to Tudum, Netflix’s in-house hype factory, Seinfeld observed that “the film that inspired us the most was the Philip Kaufman NASA movie The Right Stuff. That was the basic template.” Fair enough.
The cast of Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story
The cast is wall-to-wall with comedy veterans including Seinfeld himself as Bob Cabana, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) as Donna Stankowski, Jim Gaffigan as Kellogg’s honcho Edsel Kellogg III, Amy Schumer (Trainwreck) as Post boss Marjorie Merriweather Post, Hugh Grant as Tony the Tiger actor Thurl Ravenscroft, Max Greenfield (New Girl), Christian Slater (Heathers), Bill Burr (The Mandalorian), Daniel Levy (Schitt’s Creek), James Marsden (Enchanted), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Thomas Lennon (A Futile and Stupid Gesture) Bobby Moynihan (Sisters), Adrian Martinez (The Guilty), Sarah Cooper (Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine), and Fred Armisen (Portlandia).

Why we’re excited about Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story
After too many self-serious music biopics, we got Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. After a slew of flicks like Air, Ferrari, and Tetris, we’re getting this. If it’s half as good as either of those, it’ll be worth your time.
