Indiana Jones rides again! All 3 original films are returning to cinemas
I love indie cinema. Scratch that, I love ‘Indie’ cinema, the four movies starring Harrison Ford as Dr. Henry Walton ‘Indiana’ Jones, the adventuring archaeologist brainchild of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
Luckily for Australian audiences, all three original films in the Indiana Jones saga are getting a cinematic re-release, bringing the OG 80s blockbusters to glorious big-screen life at a location near you.
You can relive the magic of these swashbuckling movies, with Raiders of the Lost Ark now once again playing in Australian cinemas.
Not to spoil the ending or anything, but the below behind-the-scenes clip will definitely make you want to rewatch that iconic face-melting finale to Raiders. “I thought that was one of the most amazing effects I’d ever seen”, Steven Spielberg claims, and we totally agree.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom will be available from February 4, and from February 18, audiences have a chance to say goodbye to the late Sean Connery, who appears as Indy’s eccentric father in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
Scary, satisfying and still incredibly well-scripted and directed to this day, the Indiana Jones series was made for the cinematic experience; to be shared in a dark room with friends, or to be passed down from parents to their kids. So grab that whip and swing your way into your fave local cinema, for three trips into an exotic and forgotten mode of blockbuster filmmaking.
