Moonlight Cinema returns to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide
You know summer is in full swing when film lovers begin congregating on the grass at Moonlight Cinemas, slouching on picnic rugs and sipping from stubbies.
Australia’s most famous outdoor cinemas have returned to inner city parklands in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, for the following dates and locations:
Adelaide: Botanic Park, Dec 8 – Feb 17
Brisbane: Roma Street Parkland, Nov 29 – 31 Mar
Melbourne: Central Lawn at Royal Botanic Gardens, Nov 29 – 31 Mar
Perth: May Drive Parkland, Kings Park & Botanic Garden, Dec 1 – 31 Mar
Sydney: Belvedere Amphitheatre in Centennial Park, Nov 29 – 31 Mar
This year’s program includes lots of brand new releases as well as big, new-ish titles you might have missed.
Brand new releases include Holmes and Watson, Bumblebee, Storm Boy, Vice, Aquaman, The Favourite and Instant Family. Titles from this year that you might have missed include Venom, Crazy Rich Asians, First Man, A Star is Born and Ladies in Black.
Family films on the bill include Incredibles 2, Smallfoot and The Greatest Showman. The Christmas program will screen The Grinch, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Elf and Love Actually.
Moonlight Cinema screenings are BYO events. Or, if you can’t be bothered preparing food, you can eat from food trucks and order drinks from a licensed bar. Bottom’s up!
