Muse: Drones World Tour in cinemas for one night only, on July 12
English rock band Muse are known for putting on a show.
Their 2015-2016 Drones World Tour was a totally sedate affair, involving just the usual day-to-day things. Like mind-blowing laser shows, giant projections which interacted with band members, and colourful drones that flew autonomously above the audience’s heads.
Reviews emerged of these performances, describing them with words like “the greatest show on earth” and “a jaw-dropping extravaganza.”
The 90 minute documentary capturing these performances, Muse: Drones World Tour, is on its way to cinemas for one night only. It is playing on the big screen around the world on July 12, including in many Australian locations (check our movie info page for session times and screenings).
Filmed and recorded over multiple evenings, the key songs performed include Psycho, Madness, Uprising, Plug in Baby, Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia.
The worldwide tour, to support the Grammy Award-winning band’s 2015 album Drones, commenced in May 2015 in Norwich, England.
Muse rocked out at venues and festivals around the world, including locations throughout Europe, Asia and America.
Outrageously, and in a snub that is completely unacceptable in every way, the tour never made it to Australia. This might provide extra incentive for local fans to see Muse: Drones World Tour on the big screen.
The New York Times described the Muse live experience as “an endless build-up, heading for one peak after another — is what a Muse concert sets out to deliver by every means available.”
