Outdoor cinemas might be a dime a dozen these days, but the Nights Owls initiative stands out for a couple of reasons: 1) it’s free, and 2) it’s located in a central family-friendly Sydney location.
Running until January 20 at Village Green Darling Quarter, screenings kick off every evening at 6:45pm.
Family films on the program include The Greatest Showman, A Wrinkle in Time, Coco, Paddington 2, The Lego Ninjago Movie and Peter Rabbit.
More adult-oriented blockbusters will screen from 8:30pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Titles include Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Thor: Ragnarok, Ready Player One, Ocean’s 8, Pitch Perfect 3 and Sweet Country.
Tickets will cost you big fat nothing. Parking is $12 after 5pm Monday – Thursday, $18 after 5pm Fridays and $14 all day Saturday and Sunday. You can book a parking bay online for $10 using the promo code NIGHTOWL.
