Our final goodbye to the Gallaghers: how to watch Shameless season 11 in Australia
We all know TV’s Gallagher family to be Shameless (it’s the title, duh), dysfunctional, highly emotional and trouble-seeking. But I don’t think any of us expected these conflicted characters to show so much dang resilience: Shameless is officially Showtime’s longest running series, partying on for more than a decade and 134 episodes.
We can now confirm that all episodes of season 11 are available via Google Play and Apple TV. See this page for details.
The final season’s trailer kicks off with Frank (William H. Macy) whingeing about the oppressive gentrification of his beloved South Side: “all we gotta do is make the yards dangerous again.” By now, though, we’re pretty used to Frank being a despicable yet highly watchable mess. It’s always more interesting to see how his kids have evolved, finding themselves single parents, or juggling a happy marriage when all they’ve known is family calamity.
With no more episodes of Gallagher chaos taking over Chicago, season 11 means we’ll get to see the conclusion of each character’s long-running story, including what looks like the epic culmination of the bitter Gallagher-Milkovich rivalry.
I wouldn’t advise getting your hopes up too much that beloved past characters like Fiona (Emmy Rossum) and Sheila (Joan Cusack) might return to say goodbye: they’re tragically not amongst the new season’s announced cast. Meaning you might just have to go back to the beginning and shamelessly rewatch the whole show once more for that OG family reunion feel.
