Halloween movie marathons are coming to Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane

How does the idea of watching all eight of the original Halloween movies back to back in a cinema sound to you?

Let’s be honest: if you answered “sounds like my perfect night out” it’s possible you have some serious issues. Or perhaps you are just a huge fan of the Halloween movies, those classic slasher films about that lovable oaf Michael Myers.

And by “lovable oaf” we of course mean vicious serial killer full of pure evil.

On October 27, Palace Cinemas across the country will be running a butt-flattening event called Spooktacular: The Night He Came Home – 40 Years of Halloween. This all-night horror marathon will play all eight of the original Halloween movies.

The event is timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the first film, an undisputed classic of the genre.  Directed by John Carpenter, the original – which features the big screen debut of Jamie Lee Curtis – follows Myers as he stalks and kills teenage babysitters.

The full line-up for Spooktacular will be: Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Halloween H20, and Halloween: Resurrection.

The cinemas playing the marathon will be Chauvel Cinema (Sydney), the Astor Theatre (Melbourne), Palace Electric (Canberra) and Palace Centro (Brisbane).
