Silo season 2: Australian trailer and release date

Is it us, or are we getting a lot of post-apocalyptic movies and series lately? Probably nothing to worry about – certainly not a culture wrestling with its own imminent destruction. Don’t sweat it. Anyway, Silo is back for a second season.

When is Silo season 2 being released in Australia?

Silo season 2 is streaming in Australia exclusively on Apple TV+ from November 15, 2024.

What is Silo season 2 about?

Created by Graham Yost (Justified) and based on the trilogy of sci-fi novels by Hugh Howie, Silo takes place in the titular structure, a vast underground city where the last 10,000 people left after an unspecified apocalypse live in a strictly controlled society. With no records remaining about the time before the titular Silo was constructed, the true nature of the catastrophe remains unknown. But it could be that the powers that be, whoever they are, are concealing what’s really going on in the purportedly unliveable outside world. And so, we follow engineer-turned-sheriff Juliette Nichols as a murder investigation uncovers info that could shake the very foundations of the community. Think “post-apocalyptic small town murder mystery with Gnostic themes” and you’re on the right track.

The cast of Silo season 2

Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, Doctor Sleep) is Juliette Nichols; Tim Robbins is IT head Bernard Holland; Common is security head Robert Sims; Chinaza Uche is his deputy, Paul Billings; Rick Gomez is smuggler Patrick Kennedy, who traffics relics from before the apocalypse; Harriet Walter is engineer Martha Walker, Juliette’s mentor; and indie fave Steve Zahn (Out of Sight) is joining us this season in a role that has yet to be disclosed.

Why we’re excited about Silo season 2

Think of Silo as a more serious alternative to Amazon’s Fallout – it’s smart, thoughtful dystopian sci-fi that lays out its mysteries carefully but never spins its wheels. Plus, we’ll show up for anything Rebecca Ferguson is in.
