This Northern Territory festival brings films to iconic landscapes and remote Aboriginal communities
Nowadays there’s no shortage of film festivals. Events across the country cater for a seemingly infinite number of audiences in pretty much every location you can think of.
The Northern Territory Travelling Film Festival (NTTFF) is something a little different.
Following a successful inaugural year in 2018, the festival will return in March and travel to a range of locations under the stars – including iconic landscapes and remote Aboriginal communities.
This year’s program has a significant draw card in Top End Wedding. It is the keenly anticipated new feature film from The Sapphires director Wayne Blair, which was filmed on location across the NT last year.
The NTTFF will begin in the Central Desert mid-March and work its way to the Top End of the NT, finishing at the end of June.
There are lots of other films on the program spanning genres including comedy, drama, science fiction, documentary and sport films.
Festival Director Britt Guy said: “It was thrilling to see local audiences as well as visitors to the Top End respond so enthusiastically to the film program we presented last year. In 2019 we are being even more ambitious. The program is packed with films for everyone to appreciate and enjoy and I urge visitors to get in early to buy their tickets and plan their trip to the NT around our Festival events.”
