Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of Season 5, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, towards their uncertain fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.

Season 4 opens in December 1925. When Tommy receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, he realises that the Shelbys are in danger of annihilation.

In the fifth and final season, the series expands its focus into the media - specifically the role of newspapers in big-city bureaucracy - as it follows a newspaper staff struggling to maintain integrity and meet deadlines in the face of budget cuts and staff reductions.
